General ESP/ASR/Hillhold unavailable

Quick update, just phoned the garage who informed me that the brake light is stuck on.

I even checked it multiple times yesterday, i guess that'l be the brake pedal switch then.

OK, the garage cleared the fault, adjusted something, passed the MOT and we said goodbye. Half a mile up the road and the same warnings are back. I got these error codes during the diagnostics...

C1052 - Rear LH Phonic Wheel.
C1051 - Rear RH Wheel Speed Sensor.

Now i have no idea what any of this means, if anyone could shed some light, that would be immensely helpful.

Im finding that hard to believe, Im not that brutal. Also what with the brake lights staying on (although not anymore) im thinking (more hoping) it is the brake pedal switch still. Just wondering why the fault stayed clear for a few minutes before returning. Also are the sensors not in the hub itself?

This is going to be expensive isnt it...

no the sensor is a seperate item usually held in with a lil 10mm bolt

as for the other side which you need the hub on maybe some brake fluid has dripped on to the sensor ring n stripped the magnetic strip off or something caught it while you were changing them

i know that as a friend of mine has done that before on his punto

Fiat changed the RH rear Hub. £205. strange as it fixed fault codes for both hubs. Just an update for anyone using the search function really.

you must have slipped and pulled some of the magnetic strip off then as it doesnt happen by itself

Bit of thread ressurection here...

On the A19 this morning tootling along at 70mph I got the ABS / hill holder / ESP unavailable....

It persisted so I took it straight to my trusted independant. They plugged it in and diagnosed rear sensor fault. On taking off the rear disc (themselves only 3 weeks old), they found the magnetic strip had a piece missing (it should go completely round the hub, but had 1cm or so missing.

Ordered a new one which arrived in 50 minutes, refitted and I was on my way. All for less than £100, which was good.

The sensor strip must be fragile when the discs are changed...

The car is almost ready for Italy on Tuesday now :D
