What a saga this is turning into!

Dealer is ordering a new clutch switch. Apparently while looking at the switch the tech noticed that some wiring was somehow nagged around a bit of the pedal box so they are keeping the car overnight so they can disassemble the pedal area and route the wiring properly. Was my car built on a Friday?

hey stop being so negative. be grateful they have successfuly diagnosed it. much better than the usual can't replicate it so nothing wrong with it speil dealers usually come away with. hope this is the last problem for you though!

It might be different in Scotland with less traffic but after having a hire car with Cruise Control i found it down right dangerous on our roads with the amount of traffic we've got.

Id much rather just let my foot of a pedal to slow down than have to muck about. If it breaks again i personally wouldn't care & would just leave it broken. It's not like the engine's just fell off its mountings.

Mines used daily and frankly is like aircon now - would never have a car without it again. Yes it's not practical all the time to use but I use it for a good 35/40miles of my 50mile round trip from work.

You should try traveling with your car on a long empty motorway for more than two hours, it's hell without the cruise control.

I'm suprised it's so popular - it's not very often i find an empty Motorway for more than a couple of miles. Maybe i'd get used to using it, i just wasn't that keen when i tried it.

Did a 400 mile round trip last week to Blackburn and back down the M74/M6. CC was on for a good 300 miles of it. Was able to do at least 150 miles without touching the brakes (y)

Yes it's not always smart to use it but we do have some stretches of road which are still quiet enou to use it on.

I'm not being negative, dealer service dept has been really good so far with it. I bought the Bravo after hearing the we're better built/more reliable than the GP. Hopefully once this niggle is resolved it will live up to that :)

This just gets better...

Apparently the connector the clutch switch connects to is damaged from being trapped. The techs at the dealer think they have figured out a replacement but failing that then the whole wiring loom will need replaced.

Go the car back just now, will take it back once the bits are in.

+1 to the dealer service people though, at least they are sorting it properly rather than just doing a quick reset which might break again soon (y)

its nice for once to see someone like myself focusing on a positive solution rather than a negative problem! Once sorted im sure it will be happy motoring! :D

There are a few master's degreed engineers out there who could learn a thing or two here! Wouldnt even need their bank balance! :D
