Can anybody help? I have a '07 Multijet Dynamic 150 and 2 weeks ago I was pulling away from a set of lights when the car just bogged down and stalled. After getting away on my second attempt I immediately realised there was something wrong with the gearchange. All gears became very difficult to engage and reverse was impossible without turning off the engine first. I had no gear selection probs prior.

I have read similar threads on the forum that relate to cold weather or DMF's. It was 22degs when it happened and there were no strange noises after the car stalled.

Thanks.

sounds like your clutch may have gone to me, either that or complete meltdown of the gearbox, id get it looked at if i was you mate.

cheers

It's in the local Fiat dealer now. Problem is they dont seem to know exactly what the problem is.

At first they talked about changing the gear change cables, then the clutch plate, the DMF and the slave cylinder.

I'll have a bill well over a grand if they change everything. Sounds to me like they want to change everything hoping 1 thing will work rather than diagnosing the problem and fixing it.

Cars only done 34k!

Cheers.

Hi Nick,

I'm just wondering if you have any update? My car seems to have developed the same problem.

Hello there.
I believe that we have the same problem.
Would you be so kind to reply me if you manage to get the job done whit the issue ?
Thanks a million ;(

Hello there ! A have an update regarding the issue of the stiff gearchange.
The problem was the master cylinder.
The mechanic changed it and now it's working smoothly.

Hi All,
I have noticed similar problem, not exactly the same though.
Recently I have noticed a very weird problem regarding my gear shift. As soon as the engine getting warm, it becomes harder to change any gear. It is easier if the engine is cold.
I also noticed that the gear stick does not move back into the central position after putting the gear stick into neutral. However,I also noticed if
I change gear on higher rpm - around 2700-3000 rpm-, changing the gear is easier.
What can be the problem? Oil ?
My car is an 1.9 Multijet, 8V one assembled with 5-speed gearbox.

Thanks a million for any comment.
@Colleagues : Do you have a 6-speed ge :arbox?
Cheers,
