The beehatch went into limp mode for about the 5th time tonight, but this time it was different. Was pushing her hard when it happened going about 60/70mph, the car all of a sudden pulled back and lurched as if it was in too low a gear for the speed (even though I didn't change it) and BEEEEEEP! all the usual warnings come up as per for limp mode, but this time there is... no power at all.

Usually it just makes the turbo cut out and it just drives like a 1.4 N/A but this time the revs were lower than ever and idle was making an extremely bizarre struggling noise.
Managed to pull into a quiet side street and turn her off. Popped the hood and the engine was making a really weird ticking noise, almost like when it's cooling down, but it was doing it in a sort of repetitive beat. I waited for the ticking to almost go away and disconnected the tuning kit and started her up again.
Everything was fine after that, but before, when it has been in limp mode and i've taken the tuning kit off it's still not had the turbo for a while, or a few start ups, whereas this time I had turbo straight away but it's still showing check engine light and another symbol. (off memory it's either an A or a ! inside a circle or triangle)

Why does this keep happening!? My tuning kit is set at a lower setting than ever before!

I also can't claim this off warranty if it is actually a engine/turbo fault because apparently the ECU keeps a history of why it has gone into limp mode and if it's because of the turbo pressure being too high they'll just void it.

no the pressure could be to high due to a "faulty sensor" i know i have experienced this but i started with mine on low and every thousand miles turned it up abit

they wont be able to proove you had a tuning box on, or like me make sure you buy it from a garage that cant do diagnostic checks on fiats lol

everybody can now with a copy of FES and a OBD cable, completes all checks from what im aware

You'll never know if you continue to drive it with it, won't you? Hope it's not anything with the engine. Although on the other hand, I just got notice from the post service that mu TMC kit is here, so I hope it's not the kit either :)
