My Wife has a Bravo 57 plate 1.9 Multijet Diesel and she is having a problem getting the gear stick into gear. She claims that the problem gets worse the longer the journey, she says it goes into first gear when cold fine but after 20 miles trying to shift into 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th is difficult and moving down through the gears become really tricky. I used the car a few weeks ago to travel to Glasgow and I did notice that it was impossible to go from 5th into 4th so I started shifting from 5th to 3rd to compensate.

I have checked the forum and I can see similar issues but not quite the same.

Any ideas?

Is there any kind of noise that accompanies the changes? Or any whining in general?

Somethings just occurred to me. Dya know how change gear without the clutch? This should be a reasonable way to narrow down the cause

There is no noise from the gearbox and I dont know how to change gear without the clutch.
