Anyone done this? I've got to the stage of getting the interior boot trim off, to reveal a motor that is riveted into place :bang:. My current motor is broken, the cars JUST out of warranty, and FIAT will not accept any responsibility as it is apparently a "wearable part", along with the entire wiper assembly...

Also, anyone ever put the boot trim back on, as I am having a bit of trouble with the stupid clips . Why is nothing ever easy?

Unfortunately not (n)

And it's definitely the motor, every so often it will work, but the motor makes an absolute racket. It was quite badly damaged during the snow, when it was bent fairly far backwards, and 3 months of use has finished the job :(

They are very useful, cheers :). Was kinda what i was doing anyway, to no avail...but a drill is required? WTF? Surely screws or bolts would have made more sense...

UPDATE: Work now done. My advice to anyone looking to remove the rear wiper for themselves is this...if you are de-wipering the car permanantly, before any drilling, try popping the end of the rivet you can see off with a screwdriver. It is a round piece of metal, that looks not dissimilair to a washer. It cuts the job time in half.

If you are doing it to replace a faulty motor, ONLY do it if you have the professional tools and/or patience of a saint.
