Hi all.

Got a 1.9 multijet 120 57 plate. Started up car this morning and travelled a few hundered yards when the orange engine management light came on along with the "check engine" message. However despite this the car is running normally and I have travelled 40 miles to work, 40 miles back with no problems. Is there anything I should be worrying about and any ideas on what might be causing it?

you had the check engine light come on and you kept driving??

did you at least check the fluid levels?

Fluids were checked and were and still are fine. The car was only serviced about six or seven weeks ago.

Hi Folks just an update. The light went off on it's own this afternoon.

My 2.0 was doing the same after all the cold weather and snow we had been having.

I stopped and checked it all and it went in for a look at the garage and they changed the inlet manifold and since then its been fine, it also got rid of the loss of power that I had been experiencing at times.

means the ECU has not seen the fault for 3 drive cycles not that it has 'fixed' itself...my money is on EGR sticking.

If I were you I'd make time before the car decides to do it for you !!!
