120 TJet to 150 TJet

What are the differences between the TJet120 and the TJet150? Is it just Turbo and Injectors?

I'm just wondering, If I buy a second hand turbo from a 150 and the injectors can I turn my 120 into a 150? xD I've heard the turbos are physically the same size, and it's just the innards that are bigger on the 150.

Thanks =]

Re: 120 TJet to 150 TJet

I'd say the 150 isn't a great deal faster than the 120. Rather than changing turbos etc you should get a tuning box to put it to 150 and maybe some fastroad camshafts and a big intercooler to get you flying? It would probably be cheaper than getting the turbo changed.

Re: 120 TJet to 150 TJet

The cheapest way is to sell your 120, and buy a 150.

Factor in parts, labour, increased insurance and you're probably over the cost of buying the T150.
Thanks RobW thanked for this post

During a service on my 120 multijet, I found a sticker on the engine saying 1.9D 136CH.

CH is the french for PS, so the cars do actually put out more than fiat says.

edit : or maybe that's the power figure before drivetrain loss?

Re: 120 TJet to 150 TJet

Power loss from engine to wheels is approximately 18% on a manual car.
So 134 - 18% is 110, far below the 120 advertised. That, and manufacturers usually only give the engine power figure, I'd say the 120 is just under-rated and some vehicles will come out with quite a bit more.
I want to get my car on a RR 'cause it doesn't feel like only 120hp!

Re: 120 TJet to 150 TJet

NO modern car has a drivetrain loss of 18% except the 4WD ones.

A front wheel drive car will have between 12 and 14% while a rear drive can be as much as 16%.

In the case of the bravo if my theory is right, the drivetrain loss would be 12%.

or maybe the engine is 136HP with drivetrain loss take into account already?

It can be done mate, I've done it. It does make quite a bit of difference as the turbo can handle more and isn't maxing out at 160ish like the t120. I did however have problems with the upgrade and am still trying to look for injectors for it as I can't seem to research anything but the GP SS ones, that don't fit anyway.. (I think :S).

I'm probably going to chuck a garrett gt2554 t25 roller on there and get a custom manifold, problem being is the injectors/fuel rail still and not sure what also I would need. I want to be looking 200bhp+, and the IHI's are completely maxed out running over that, even with all the other mods.

you replaced the turbo alone and it worked right away?

please give us the detail of what it took, pipes, sensors etc...

You're being rude again. honnestly, if you want a place to let your rage out why don't you try boxing.

besides, they're his own videos, he made them and I don't think you have to right to say or imply that he's a liar.
