I have been lurking on this forum for some time now picking up various tips/issues but a recent experience with my Bravo t-jet 150 has prompted me to register so I can pass it on to you guys.
The problem first started after I drove over a bump whilst doing a 3-point turn – engine died and would not restart for a bit, once it did CEL was on & no ASR / Hill Hold; car drove home (~50miles) in safe mode. Once home I reset the many codes that were showing (eg P0340, P0105, P0236, P0106, P0120) and went for a test drive the following day, all was OK until I hit a pot hole and lost all acceleration, engine kept going but would not rev for a couple of minutes, then it just came back - CEL was on. Had to drive for work the following day but got virtually no-where - living in Manchester I'm unable to get anywhere without going uphill & the car had now power so I just couldn't get anywhere so had to get the AA to recover me to the dealer….
Dealer spent a couple of days (& lots of my money!) swapping sensors, checking wiring and eventually traced the fault to corrosion/verdigris on the aircon pressure sensor & connector. Apparently this was pulling down the supply to other sensors & causing all the error codes – replacing the sensor & cleaning up the connections has sorted it! Now I know what the issue was and what to search for I have found a similar issue is mentioned on the Stilo sub-forum (for example see NumanR's comments at the end of the 'STILO 1.6 Throttle Problem' thread).
This might be a ‘one-off’ on my car (dealer said Fiat weren’t aware of it) - maybe the damp weather in Manchester or the amount of salt they chuck on the roads when it snows that has caused my sensor to corrode. But thought I’d put the info up here just in case anyone else has it in the future.
