Hi Stllos,

Thanx for the fast reply.

What I would use the unit for would only be GPS, so that means I will just need a GPS antenna with the grey GTS plug right ?

Further, you say the unit need an extra ignition key 12 volt power than besides the standard plug ? where should this wire be plugged in exactly ?

For the removal of the CONNECT NAVI, you would then need only wire, or could 2 small screewdrivers also be used ?

Exactly how did you fix the ODO flashing, same way as on the stilo described in the instruction or ?

Best and thanx again :)

Peter

Yes.

Connector A, pin 4.

Could be, if it can go into the hole.

Or...
By FES, proxy alignment function.

Which solution did you do on your fiat for the ODO flashing then ? Maybe if Fiat do the installation they can do the FES proxy allignment, dont you think ?

The bracket, where did you get that ? at fiat ? partno ?

This antenna fits with the plug ?

I tryed today to take the standard radio out (with the original radio keys), it went ok first time, but then the keys were stuck in the sockets, I released them with a screwdriver, placed the unit back, and now I suddenly can only get it half way out, didnt know what happened, any idea and how to get it out again ?

Thanx a lot.

Best,

Peter

I've done the proxy alignment by FES. It's ok.
Here, the Fiat garages couldn't do it.

I bought a new from fiat. It cost about 10GBP.

It's ok. I used the same, till I could buy an original aerial to the roof.

When the radio is removed, the removal tool is "stuck" in the radio to help pull. The radio lock must be pushed back to release the removal tool.
I don't know what happened with your radio. I think something has been bent.

OK, its not difficult to use that FES software and you need some additional cables as well to mount in the ECU right ?

For the radio, its very strange. I fear I have done something wrong when I released the keys with a small screwdriver.... you confirm the keys would have to be released before you put the radiounit back in the dashboard right ? I could not release it unless I helped doing it with small screwdriver before I put it back ...

Easy to use.
Yes, a cable needed.

Do not buy Blue/Orange ELM cable. (It requires a few mod).

If you pulled out the keys by force, something bent at the radio lock.
Normally the keys are removed from the radio, before installation.

OK, so you think I could do it as well ? Would you mind to make an idiots guide how to do it ? I would need to buy the software package and the cable, and then ?

For the radio, I did gently take it out, and in order to release the keys, I gently used a small flat screwdriver to release the flat clips from the keys, so the radiokeys could come out. After that I slided the radio back in, its amazing that they did make this so complicated, I didnt force anything :(

You can, not a big deal. Read this and the forum:

Sorry mate, I'm afraid, I can't help in this radio problem.
I have never had problem.

yeah, already saw that, does not say though how to disable that ODO flashing due to the navi ? ... could you specify more mate ?

Also can I use the free version of the ECU software or only the one you have to pay for ?

Just download the FES 3.2.
Ctrl+F10 is a test mode, without connection to the car, you will see everything.
( Select your car BC than Ctrl+F10, select proxy alignment than Ctrl+F10, ).

To do it on your car, you will need the full version, free version is not enough.

OK sounds pretty easy. The car have to be ignited doing it ? And I cannot **** anything up ?

"Proxy" basically means that it will check all and correct, and then add the Connect Navi itself to the system ?

Hi Stilos,

So today I tryed to install the unit, all went ok and for some reason I did not get any flashing ODO ? - strange ...

Anyway the language is italian and I have downloaded the file in this post to change the language:

https://www.fiatforum.com/satellite-navigation/208448-setup-cd-connect-nav.html

But when I try to change the language to english in the menu
MY CAR - LINGUA - and choose ENGLISH

then the system would say: "cambio setup fallito".

Could you tell me how to change it ?

Also, could you recommend a GSM antenna and microphone on ebay ?

PS: The extra power you talked about, what is that for, it seems my unit is running without that one ?

Best,

Peter

OK Stilos is not here, so I hope someelse have tryed the same as him and now me ...

Still fighting with my connect navi + for the Bravo 2...

I have decided to purchase an original G2 map for the unit, since my unit seem to be very poorly updating when using copy discs (like only every 30 seconds or so) - then lets see if it can read an original disc or not, expensive though 150 Euro ... but now lets try. All the copys I have tryed cannot be read by the unit (either the G1 or the G2 (citroen / peugeot) I found in gpsunderground.com).

Further I would like to get the original setup CD for the Connect Navi+ I have, does anyone have the FIAT sparepart number for that ? and eventually does somebody know where I can get one ? I can not get my unit to read the copy of this as well, so DL is not a solution at this stage.

I have read something that there need to be an extra ignition 12v to the unit, I have not done this procedure yet, does anyone know where I should put this wire in the unit, and could that be the one that influence the CD reading or setup procedure in the unit, so I cannot set the language or the time ? Stilos wrote pin 4 in connector 1, is that the connector not used in the back of the unit under the standard radio connector ?

:)

Answer:

You can see, that it works like the original radio without this ignition switched 12V.

I got the setup CD from a stilo owner. It worked, took about 30sec.

But when I try to change the language to english in the menu
MY CAR - LINGUA - and choose ENGLISH

then the system would say: "cambio setup fallito".

Could you tell me how to change it ?

"cambio setup fallito" -------> Exchange setup failed
Sorry mate, I tried to make a copy of the setup cd, but my copy didn't work, also.

Also, could you recommend a GSM antenna and microphone on ebay ?

First of all connect the ignition switched 12V.

Now here.
Sorry mate, I was busy nowdays.

NIT G2 works with G1 map.
I've used a stilo connect nav map copy, worked properly.
The downloaded from the site works as well.
I've downloaded the NIT G2 map, but it hasn't worked.

Further I would like to get the original setup CD for the Connect Navi+ I have, does anyone have the FIAT sparepart number for that ? and eventually does somebody know where I can get one ? I can not get my unit to read the copy of this as well, so DL is not a solution at this stage.

It has p/n, I'll check.

Give me time, I'll upload a picture.
:)[/QUOTE]

Stilos :) Thanx so much for replying ....

OK I await the picture where to put the 12V ignition....

I am though worried still about that map, that it update so poorly, its strange because when I take the CD out, the langitude, altitude etc is just updating every second, but putting one of the copy map discs in will just freeze all or only update every 30-40 seconds ...

But I will NOT give up (y)

For the ODO, It did not flash, but the MENU key on the dashboard to the right of the radio (and adjustment for the headlights) I have noticed today is not working... so maybe thats where the FES come in ?

For the microphone, does that ones you link come with cable, and where in the unit should this cable go ?

Setup CD p/n: 51746395 - COMPACT DISC
cost about EUR 10.

It didn't flashing, beacuse the unit still not connected to the Canbus.
When you push the trip button on the navi, you should see ETA, AVG Cons, I.Cons, trip distance, distance to empty.....
From the unit, you should able to do setings (which was done earlier from the mode p/b).

Don't give up.
I'm happy with my unit. It knows more than enough.
I don't need to watch DVD in the car. I've TV and DVD player at home. In my car I'm driving. Just the original hadunit looks good in the car.

I think it looks cool too :) Not like aftermarket unit, but fully integrated.

How do I get it on the canbus, is that due to the missing 12V connection ?

Will it ask for a mastercode as well ?

So the MENU p/b on the dashboard will not work after connected or ?

Thanx a lot for helping, I apreciate it !

Yes, by the ignition switched 12V. See my navi menu picture: "can network -----> on"
On your picture ( I saw on other site) it is off. Of course, it needs ignition key on, also)

If it hasn't asked a master code, it won't.

The MENU p/b will work, just a few function, which are integrated into the navi "my car" menu, will be available from navi.

Thanx a lot for helping, I apreciate it !

;)

About the map:

I've download the map, which was suggested to you by gazo, on gpsunderground. Works properly.
With RT3 I have had problem, also.
