HELP?! LH dipped beam not working :(

hi guys,

Got my Bravo yesterday and when i got home from the garage (long trip) i discovered my passenger side dipped beam wasnt working - ive replaced the bulb which had indeed blown, however this didnt rectify things...

Then i replaced the fuse (7.5amp) as i (think) the old one had also blown, again nothing :( i've run out of ideas on what the problem is....

Any ideas?

I had the same issue when I had just picked up my Mjet Sport...first port of call was to check the bulb, took it out, and it looked ok, but I had a spare, so I fitted it, and that didn't work! I then thought I would check the fuses, however with mine, the fuse appeared fine. I was very confused, what made things worse, the "light out" dash error light, never came on either! Anyway, I thought I would give it one more go and tried ANOTHER bulb, this time, making completely sure to not touch the glass, and fit it as gently as possible(passenger side is difficult to do thanks to stupid water bottle design!) and it worked! :D

The only thing I can say is try a few bulbs, and make sure you don't touch the glass or at very least wipe it with a dry clean tissue...they are very sensitive! When i closely looked at the previous bulbs, the one fitted and the spare I had, although the filament looked intact, the filament on both bulbs, was actually off the base of the lamp! Wether they were like that, or a power surge from the car caused it, I'm not sure, but lights are now working and thats what matters! lol

thanks for your help mate, i may well try that - like you said i dont have a bulb error light on my dash either!
Its damn hard getting in behind the light without it touching the glass though - is it easy to remove the headlight?

I wanted to try removing the light also! But from what I've heard and read, its a bumper off job!

Too cold to be doing anything like that now! And can't be a**ed either lol!:p

Why not take it to a local Fiat garage if it is still under warranty? Surely they'll be able to find out what is wrong so that you don't keep changing things and not fixing it?

If not I'd still be looking to phone the garage you bought it off.

i'm gonna try another h1 bulb tomorrow (new one) and if that doesnt work go down to fiat dealer to see what they say...

new Bosch h1 bulb fitted....still not working - gonna take it to a garage tomorrow :(

would this actually work just for a bulb out? (no symbols showing on dash to say bulb is actually out)
