Hiyah all!

I've been researching this for some time and I found that you can buy some that are custom fit. I fitted them in less than an hour, no faffing around, fitting kit and instructions included and they are pretty good value, I'm pleased with them, comments please..........

I wouldn't have thought the Italian Stallion needed help to get it up:eek:

Seriously, looks good. Did you need to drill any holes, or were there suitable ones already there?

I was considering doing something similar to my Punto late last night - must have been pre-cognition :p lol

Looks good though! And practical :)

hi mate.
Do you happen to know if there are bonnet lifters like yours, but for the boot? I would really like to just push the button on the remote and the boot go up by itself.

Briliant Post,

Im ordering mine now, this is what we need,a good guide, part numbers and pictures.
saved me loads of time trawling through previous post.

Still say "black is still the new black"

Yes, we had these made a year ago, using the lifters from a local
car market. Twinncams, are the only tools you need just 10mm and
12mm to get the lifters in place ?

Ordered mine also.

The only tools I used were a 3/8th ratchet, 100mm extension and 10mm deep socket, that's it.

Make sure you tighten the bonnet bolt up tight and the bonnet doesn't slip, it must be the same for alignment reasons, you'll see if it moves cause you'll see primer behind the bracket, I did it alone but it would be easier if someone held the bonnet at maximum opening whilst you tension the top bolts.

Also, use loctite locknut on the bolts, particularly the bottom ones that fasten into the wing bracket.

Make sure to grease the ball joints and the sliding shaft and all will be a-ok!

Not sure how you're getting along with this, but I'm looking at getting custom ones made (if they are right price) rather than just generic ones. HERE and HERE are where I've enquired.

Not sure if it's doable or not with just uprated struts, seems like the physics of the lift are wrong to be able to just hit the boot button and it pops out and lifts all the way up without flying up too fast.

I'll let you know how it gets on.l

Someone asked about the boot lifters before. That was my concern at the time, that it needs so much effort to get it started that once it gets going it will be uncontrollable!
