Guys,

i still have an intersting issue with my car.

when engine speed around 2000rpm,especially in second gear, when i accelerate there is a slight hesitation/misfire before the car picks up.
strange thing is it doesnt happen all the time,i was hoping the new turbo would cure this problem but its obviously not a turbo issue as its the same on the new one as the failed unit.

any ideas ??

hard to say, mine shows no sign of stalling or lack in power.if it were a petrol engine id go for HT leads breaking down under load, but obviously not that, maybe justy a flat spot ??

thanks

Hi . My 150 Mjet does exactly the same , but mine does it in any gear. Thought it was just me being Paranoid !!
Glad to see that it not just me. Hope someone on here can help us find out what it is.
Mine doesn't die, just like you , if it was petrol I would have said duff Plug or HT Lead, but it ain't ....it's an Oil Burner ??

to me that sounds like turbo lag....and it would maybe explain why you still get it with the new turbo on?

the size of the turbo on the 165 is rather large compared to say a turbo on a 2.0l Astra Turbo and im sure the turbo starts to kick in fully around 2k RPM

if it is a problem iv got the same one.. 100% doesnt feel like a mis fire to me but more like a delay of when you press the pedal to when you actually start to accelerate hard..

im going to go with turbo lag ??

Stretch as in balooning.. Turbo boost is basically how long it takes the turbo to bring the turbo side of the intake system upto pressure. Big pipe runs and large intercoolers make more lag. If the pipes are balooning or leaking then you'll get that issue.

Thinking about it, the more likely issue is the EGR valve leaking through - thus it takes longer to get the intake on boost.

Could be lag i suppose,Just got rid of Volvo 2,0D rdesign with 150 BHP,didnt notice it on that, although my bravo feels a lot more powerfull
thanks
