My first post here :)

Haven't seen this in a previous post yet. I'm wondering how easy it is to replace the boot badge? I have a 57 plate Bravo and over the last 6 months the red in the logo has began to discolour and turn pink. I don't know if air/ dampness has got into it. It's just a little niggly thing that is getting to me.

Anyone else had this?

you have to remove the entire black plastic covering the inside of the boot lid.

first you need to unscrew the two handles and then pull the plastic cover while being careful not to brake it, then you can disconnect and unscrew the badge from inside.

Thanks for your help. Looks like I'll have to attempt to replace the badge myself. I went to the Sighthill garage yesterday and they are refusing to replace it because I have a 57 plate car and this isn't covered in the 3rd year warranty.

Hi, i have just bought a 57 plate bravo dynamic and the badge is the same, the dealer is doing it under warrenty before i collect it on thursday.

Thanks for the info.

This might be because your just buying the car. However I'll chance my luck and pop back down the garage at the weekend.

Might sound stupid, but is the badge attached to the lock i.e. do I need to replace the lock as well?

no its not attatched to the lock, all you need is the badge

sorry after reading through the forum someone has said their dealer told them the full lot needs changed not just the badge.

Mine was done as a warranty job (within the 2 years), and the dealer changed the badge and lock. They said it came as one unit, now whether this is true if you were doing it yourself I dont know.

not true, the badge has nothing to do with the lock.

the badge is only a button competely separate from the lock.

I guess the guys at your dealership added more stuff in the repair list so they can make more $$ from fiat on your back.

They gave me the old lock mechanism as a spare. Maybe they did that but I dont see what benefit they would have got, other than maybe it takes slightly longer to fit? Another thought is that maybe Fiat have now made a badge "available" seperately as it was costing them too much since it appears now to be a common problem.

So, even to replace the badge only (not the lock) I have to remove the inside cover of the boot lid? Mine has got little bit of water/moist in it.

I had the same problem. if you want to replace the badge it comes as one piece. Mine has the button to open the boot and the switch and badge is one. if you dont have a switch you still have to remove the inside of the tailgate but its VERY easy!

Thanks, yes i've read somewhere that there are 2 types. Don't know which one i've got. But when it's easy to teplace i'll give it a try.

mine fell off last year,, I do not know if someone wanted to take it, or not as it was right under the car. Just before I saw it on the floor it changed color the same way yours did. The silver FIAT sign was ok, but the dark red just peeled off, so I carefully cleaned it off and sprayed it with pure red color. It was just awsome, I used some silicone to glue it back, I said it was awsome until some butthead smashed it and is now a bit broken. I can take a photo if someone wants to see it?
