I am considering buying a new shape, used Bravo diesel, after recently selling my Stilo JTD MW.
What are they like? I basically want a comfortable, quiet, reliable & economical, family car with enough space in the back to seat 3 comfortably (which the stilo estate did very well for the size of the car).

im not sure what the legroom on the stilo is like... but with me and my mum sat in the front (2 near 6 footers).. we are able to fit my dad and his friend in the back outer seats comfortably... the middle seat seems quite wide as well.

id recommend test driving one and seeing what you think

but get one :D
 
It is a shame about the leg room. My stilo had adjustable rear seats that gave it loads of leg room with the seats pushed back. Thanks anyway.

What are they like to drive. As rolly and soft as the Stilo, or is the suspension rock hard now. I was hoping for something between the two.

If soft ride is what you looking for, don't get the sport, it is rock hard!!! Dynamic is fine though. I tested drive the 150 dynamic and love the ride quality but when I placed the order, I decided the sport looks better, so I bought the sport without test drive it, wrong move!!!!
 
dynamic is a ot less rolly poly then the stilo... and as said above not as harsh as the sport :)

The sport is by no stretches of the imagination harsh. You want harsh try a Golf GTi, and I mean really harsh.

I came to my Bravo from a diesel Punto and while the suspension is indeed far stiffer its not at all a problem.

And A4 s-line, they are really really harsh, but as a 5drs small family hatch, the sport is on the harsh side, if I get a 2nd chance, I will buy the daynamic instead, especially moving from the stilo which has very nice ride.

I drove an Audi A3 S-Line once as a loan car from a dealer. It was a very very harsh and bumpy ride. I dont know how anyone could live with that car day to day. I assume the A4 S-Line is similar.

On a bravo note, I think I will avoid the sport and look for a dynamic. I should be able to get a low mileage one for about £3K-£3.5K

where are you looking!! 07 plates are still commanding 6k+ for high milers with the 120 engine
They sell at salvage auctions for about £2K. + about £1000 for repairs, MOT, tax etc = a less than £3.5K Bravo.

I would never pay 6K + for one as the depreciation will be very high.

Buy for £3.5K and sell it in 2 years for £3.5K, I can live with.

Em, if its only a grand to get them to roadworthy condition again they wouldnt be going to be sold as salvage considering the oldest one your going to see is 2007.

A grand for me to get it roadworthy = about 4 grand for an insurance company to do the same.
I have £0 overheads. Just buy parts from breakers, fit in my spare time and paint it.

Insurance company has to buy new genuine parts from Fiat, has high overheads for repair shop, a lot of labour, transport, provide hire car etc. etc.

I have done quite a few cars this way and it really pays off.
My stilo was the same. Buy for £1200, repairs £700, drive for 2 1/2 yrs, 22,000 miles and sell for £1700.

Id probably be more worried about how mashed the car is than ride comfort when paying that sorta money. To get one that cheap, it wouldn't just be a slight bump in a queue of traffic, im guessing. :confused:
