Hi,

Does the 'key cove'r that fits the 500, Grande Punto, fit the Bravos Key. I thought they were the same size??

Thanks for that, I will order one then. A Blue one for my Blue Bravo!:)

@£20-00 on e-bay including post, a lot for a bit of plastic I know, but what the heck its only money and a cool mod. :) Well I think so.

If you are swapping the covers make sure you transfer all the internals including the wee thing that looks like a supository...that makes the immobiliser work (or not!)

No need to worry about that, the immob chip is not on view nor can you get to it, the key is sealed apart from a battery changing compartment.

but a good call none the less.(y)

No all you do is pull the top cover off and the same for the bottom cover. Try it with your black ones currently fitted. I get them off easiest by pulling on the cover (top piece) when the blade is in the out position. Very easy honestly. And I just checked stock at work And there is no fitting instructions. But when you get your new covers you will see where the securing clips are

i e-mailed and ebayer selling key covers asking if they would fit the bravo key but he said they wouldnt...now there are loads on ebay but they all look the same to me (apart from the design obviously)

The seller is not very knowledgeable then is he, providing you have the new style key ie the same as the 500 and or late GP or Punto evo then its fine, my covers are from a set marked for the 500.... if your in doubt post a photo of your key

I am computer illiterate!!! Tried to copy page 13 of latest hand-book, from Pdf:bang:, shows illustration on how to change cover!!!
I also was told that the 500 key cover does not fit the Bravo by one party, but another said it did!!! I believe the key is a standard fob on 500, series2 Grande Punto and Bravos. Hope this helps.

Nope, you need to split the case so you get all the gubbins out - like the transponder chip that works with your immobiliser - if you don't take that across the key will need reprogrammed and that costs money.

Remove the Fiat logo piece (it comes out with a bit of prying) - and it reveals a screw, remove that and the key will separate giving you the internals...swap the necessary bits (actual key piece and transponder) and then rebuild it...it's a 5 minute job and very easy, but make sure everything is transferred across (like metal key piece and transponder).

Ok i have now put a pic of my key up... ok so if you have the same shape key as this then you can fit key covers from the following... 500,GP,Punto evo

If you do not have this style key then you cannot have key covers... and changing to that ''old fiat'' blue one. well thats your call...

It's not the old blue one as mine is black...but that is the shape of the key I have...but my car is 07 'vintage' so it's entirely possible the key design has gone all arty-farty like the 500...

Cool if thats the shape of key you have then you have your pick of covers from the 500,GP and Punto evo range.

And there are new ones being added all the time... just wish they were cheaper:(

Sorry im getting all confused, yeah the earlier bravo's had the square key design and as such are very limited to the mods you can have.
