Yesterday got home about 20 miles drive , stoped at traffic lights and their was a loudish rattle, when i pressed the clutch down the noise got louder its second time its dont but last time it only lasted about a minute r 2 . Any ideas iv checked oil and other fluids all seems okay. The car is a 1.9 multijet 120 on a 2007 only done 19900 ish miles, only thing im worried is if its covered by warranty are not, if it is will get fixed and sell it for something more reliable i think

i think so will have to double check, My mum could hear it from inside her house when i parked outside

Just started car up and is a bit metalic sounding but mainly sounds like the engine is 5X louder than normal

Its worse when you push your clutch down? if it is then it might be your clutch release bearing.

If its noisey on start up check your oil.

It might be under warranty, if it requires a gearbox removal then provisionally the removal labour will be down to you, unless, they find its a manufacturer defect then they will pay eveything including parts and labour. If its down to driver error then you pay.

3rd year warantys covers most things ( engines/gearboxes ) they tend not to cover electricial components.

Well its in today so just waiting for a phone call , iv also got them to check the noise on the front suspension when i go over speed bumps and a large clicking noise on the steering wheel when its turned left and right, think i will be selling once its fixed as i cant be doing with all the problems iv had with this bravo and the grande punto i had before this.

its annoying my mums had her old toyota for 15 years and nothing has gone wrong apart from usual wear and tear, and will let you know as soon as fiat ring me

got the call from fiat so whent to pick car up they say nothings wrong with engine, even tho it was loud enough to hear inside the house from outside the day before also nothing wrong with steering but they have greased the bump stops, Knowing my look it will sound like a tank tomorow when i start it. Every time i take it fiat it ends up bein fine, think i might be jinxed are something

Hi, I was very interested in your article about the problem you had with your Bravo,

I found your thread while searching for anyone who had this problem as I experienced the same thing today while on a local trip to the shops,

Like you said, it was loud enough that people could hear it clearly from outside the car,

And again as you said, only when the clutch peddle was pressed?

I also have The 1.9 120 m/jet, to me the noise sounds "metalicky" almost certain about that,

I have checked all the levels (including g/box) and they are fine.

Strangely the noise has disapeared? but i feel sure that I have heard it before,

Could it be temperture related? as it was very cold today (-6 last night) and still -2 on way to shops.

Please keep me informed as to what happens as I will to you.
