ordered my DTUK box yesturday and recieved it today.. got it for £213 inc delivery as im in the RAF so got it at trade price as he put it..
mine is the DTUK Green box so its built for economy but with the output result of 200bhp for the 150 mjets and around 210bhp for the 2.0 mjet like mine..
very tidy little box.. fitted it straight away with no great problems.. turned the car on and all was working well...
took it for a test drive and i could notice the difference in power in the higher rev range without a doubt.. (once warmed up).. bearing in mind it is wet here 1st and 2nd gear dont feel much different they do pull a little bit harder around the top end though. 3rd gear is a different matter as once in the higher rev range (2.5k rpm) the wheels started to spin and the traction control kicked in. pretty impressed with that...
took it for a slightly longer test drive all motorway driving to see what the fuel eco was going to be like so i put 15 litres in and it was on the mark just below half way.. drove it about 1mile out of the petrol station and it moved down to between that mark and the next one.. by the time i got back it was on the next mark in 11mile so at the moment i think its using more fuel then it was before so im thinking there deffernetly is something wrong with my car but it still is only early days.
the reason i got the eco one was because of fuel economy and i know TMC said it would only make it worse if there was a problem if i did get a tuning box but i wanted to see for my self and i wanted the problem to be amplified so i could make a deffernet answer.. also got the DTUK box because i know it will fit on the next car iv got in mind without any alterations since its the same map... for both engines... bassically a 1.9 150 bravo without the DPF.
another thing i also noticed when i got back from the steady motorway drive (70mph al the way) was the cooling fan when i was coming to stop was on as well dont think iv ever noticed the cooling fan on before especially in this weather...
my mate has the same engine as the 150 bravo but in the astra and he has that box on his and he has managed to get the 200bhp and 10litres to 150miles which is amazing so theres a few reasons why i choose it.
