38,000 miles and the clutch is just starting to show signs of slipping - pulling in 6th from low revs.

Seems very low mileage/age for this to be happening, so it could be faulty parts.. but is it worth the extra cost of going to Fiat if nothing is found, compared to just getting a new clutch kit fitted eventually when it's becoming a problem by a local garage?

:(

I wouldn't mind but I'm careful not to ride the clutch (n)

Hellcat.. a clutch slip is most probably a worn out clutch or a possibility tht the slave cylinder has failed/failing allowing fluid on the clutch plate.. the later being warranty.. the first one not.

38K is a little under lived.. but its diesel with 225ft/lb of torque and im sure hellcat is a spirited driver.

I suggest you take it to the dealer.. but the slave cylinder is inside the gearbox which means a removal of the box to assertain the cause which the labour will be placed on your if its found the clutch is simply worn out.

I believe the tempario (fiat labour times) on a bravo II 150 mjet gearbox removal and refit is around 8 hours:eek:.

Is it worth the risk? well its slipping and will get worse.. it might be the cylinder if it is.. you get new cylinder and clutch kit for free(y), it it isn the cylinder you need to cough up for the clutch ( which will need doing anyway )

I personally think you have been ragging it:devil:

Internal cylinder on the Bravo? I'll monitor the brake/clutch fluid levels and see if it could be contamination. 8 hours at Fiat prices is a lot of kerching. My diesel tipo needed a new clutch at 140k, and my Marea I had for about 20k before a component broke - there was still plenty of meat on the clutch plate.

Bunny's Bravo (classic) had to get a new clutch at under 30k as it had oil contamination from the crank bolts! Similar symptoms with it slipping under heavy load.

For the record I got 46.8mpg last tank!

mine is starting to play up at the moment too, just hit 40k mark. low down revs in high gear im getting a bad vibration from the gearbox area, also its very easy to make my clutch slip at the moment, i have the feeling its the dual mass flywheel !! good job i got warranty left!

ive noticed that the clutch pedal is ultra senstive, all u have to do is just skim it or place your foot on it for split second and the clutch will just slip, so mine must be rite on its limit! is this wot yours is like hellcat ?

I've not tried forcing it to slip - I drive with my foot under the clutch pedal so that's why I'm sure I've not been riding the clutch.

It's not bad, but under extreme circumstances it happens - like pulling out at under 60 in 6th and putting the foot to the floor!
