I have only been driving mine for a few days and havent been going too wild and have done mainly town driving and am averaging 33mpg on the 1.4 T-Jet.

However...my figures are probably invalid due to the lack of drive time and the fact I cant really thrash the engine until its bedded in :(

22.8 mpg! traffic jams( london) alot of turbo boost. has anyone got these figures in there multijets?

i drive the 1.9 150 btw

M1 into London then round the A406 to hanger lane is my daily slog. Same motor but getting much better figures average of 47 -50 MPG. Will try and isolate the A406 for the rest of the week and see what the traffic jams return.
Cheers

There's about 3 threads about MPG on the go now! I'm averaging around 43mpg. 41mpg thrashed and 45mpg without trying.

Now this is where i get all upset:mad: y am i getting 22.8 mpg thrashed and youre gettin 41mpg. Now i see it two ways

1. theres something wrong with my car:confused:
2. theres something wrong with your trip computer:p

I find 41 mpg hard to digest when thrashing which means hard 1st / 2nd gear pulls ALL the time and alot of turbo boost, traffic jams.

I get 45-49mpg on the motorway at 75mph.
I can get the magic 60mpg average but i must not go over 65 ish mph.

Now the poster who said his tjet is gettin 33mpg around town, is that traffic jams and 1st/2nd gear driving?

over 575 miles i averaged 49.8mpg iirc.... tank was near enough on fumes..

this tank i have done about 80 miles on so far and im averaging 51.8mpg atm :)

as long as i see 480+ miles to a tank i arent really fussed :D

Yeah 1st/2nd start stops and crawling in 1st and 2nd. Do you have the sport button activated as I am sure that juices up the Turbo a bit and will drink a little more.

Hi Skimpy!

I have the DIESEL!!!!!!! doesnt have a sport button

umm i gna remove my engine cover make sure everythings as it should be.
I just dont understand how people thrash their cars at still get 40+mpg!!
unless people dont understand thrashing....

only once have i gt 600 miles from a tank and i was bored like hell.
Any fast spirited driving sees ma tank go from 240 miles to 300 miles.

Thrashed to me means ragging it around the country lanes. 36 miles in 35 mins... and 15 of them at 30mph. The final MPG was calculated from a tank fill.

nope... its a mixture.. but no major high speed driving...

picking my sister up from college is a mixture of a roads and quite small country lanes including a few sneaky overtakes... and my route to work goes through a few small villages and roundabouts and a few miles at 60-70mph :)

about 25 miles of it is motorway :D

I've only been through one tank so far since picking it up last week, mostly up and down the motorway to work...
I averaged 48.4mpg according to the onboard trip computer.
~70mph on motorways...
Happy bunny!:)

I would take what the onboard pooter says with a pinch of salts guys

In trip A there is an instant average speed section

I sat at a constant speed of 83 pressed the reset and waited

78 came back the speed, 5 mph less than the speedo

Where does the trip computer get that reading from?

I know speedos are usually reading high, so does the trip have another connection?

Im going to compare a real time calculation and the trip next week of fuel economy

The speed that the trip meter shows will be a direct translation of the digital speed signal. The speedo is an analogue approximation to what the digital speed signal says.

OK so I'm getting around 38MPG in heavy traffic (A406 rush hour) 1st & 2nd gear stuff. So I guess I'm doing OK. Only difference is that I've got a TMC tuning box fitted.

Lowest tank average my 1.9 120Mjet has had is 48ish on the comp. That involved really going for it on a couple of trips. I usually get around 51/52MPG on my daily commute, 54mile round trip on A roads with about 2/3 miles of dual carriageway and a lot of overtaking lorries and tractors (or the elderly doing 35MPH). Highest I have ever had on the average screen is 63.7MPG, but that was just once and have not seen it again since :(. I never get less than 500 miles for my £50, usually a tank (from full to just touching the red) will get me 530 - 550miles. I only have 5 speed gearbox too for some reason.

My Goodyear EfficientGrips on the fronts (£100 each!) have upped it in the last week or so though, I reckon maybe by up to 5MPG.

Makes sense, although I remember reading somewhere on here that the 90bhp multijet Bravo's sold elsewhere in Europe did have 6 gears. Would have been nice if every multijet had 6 as standard.

Still I'm happy with my Bravo's MPG. Especially with the Goodyear EfficientGrips, much better than the old Potenza's that were on it before in every department in my experience.
