There is a box on the exhaust line half way down, just after the catalytic converter, and I would like to know it's purpose.

I imagine it's just another silencer, and if so, it's getting whapped off.

Was considering getting a decat for extra power and noise but decided against it because it would most likely invalidate my warranty... not to mention the illegal side of it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Maybe should have been a ? in there somewhere. How far down the exhaust are you talking? Got a photo?

Basically, the red circle is circling what I think is the catalytic converter (honeycomb cylinder looking thing) then the green circle is the mysterious "silencer" then after that is the actual exhaust backbox and tips.

I'm now thinking its a resonator, but any other opinions or factual knowledge would be greatly appreciated at this time.

the red circle one is a flexi. replace it with a straight bit and exhaust will snap

I'd be very tempted to leave the exhaust well alone until someone like Supersprint releases one. Just removing boxes here and there can really screw up the scavaging effect the pressure waves have, making the engine run poorly.

I just wish I could find out what the mysterious box is though.

And where the catalyst is situated.

In my experience its just a silencer i have a exhaust system with a de-cat and the bravo only has 1 catalytic converter the green circled box is a silencer The catalytic converter is located in the engine bay surrounded by heat shields i have no problems with the running of mine its a power-flow custom made stainless steel exhaust system and a reggazon de-cat and it gets about 10 BHP out of the engine but obviously it will fail an M.O.T without a cat

I got that removed. It's a silencer. When removed its very nice But if you dont want noise then leave it.
