Tuning longlife exhaust or red dot remap?

Tuning longlife exhaust or red dot remap?

Hi Peerzy, I do aware that the GSR with remap will give me more performance than the exhaust, but after reading a few story on the net about the GSR kit then I'm no so sure.
Exhaust will give my Bravo a different looks (hopefully better look!!) compare to other bravo, different noise as well as "some" performance gain.
I think you have the remap and GSR on your T-jet right? any problem you experianced so far?

It's the best money I've ever spent. The car cost £7500 and was good before but what Peter did for £380 has totally transformed the car. If you have a Tjet or Mjet you need to get the induction kit and remap sorted before anything else.

It's the best money you could possibly spend on the car.

Peter is a brilliant guy, he knows exactly what he's doing. He let me drive off and have a go in the car before taking any money and offered to tweak the map, he could have maybe got a few more BHP out of it but he understands like all good mappers should that it's about keeping reliability as well. He gave me all the extra power in the midrange (2krpm to 5krpm) instead of someplaces that just quote 100000000BHP (at 8krtpm where you can use it for all of 1 second).

I don't know what more I can say but you must get it done, it's simply that good.

If you think thats expencive, the complete exaust system from Ragazzon cost's 1350 € with a sport cat and 750 € without the cat..IMHO it's better the Supersprint..

Ok, I think I give you guys an update.
I didn't get the exhaust (yet) or the remap (was going to).
I took my car to the dealer last week to get the 36k service done so she is ready for the remap on the 21st, while the dealer got the car, I asked them to look at some rattle noise coming from the steering column area, it turn out one of the component in the steering rack/ column was failed, but they cant just replace that part, they have to replace the whole steering column, the car wasn't safe to drive, they are very kind to let me have the 500 1.4 sport for 5 days while they waiting for the part to turn up, so I missed the RR day. :bang:
Anyway finally got my car back couple days ago and a parcel turn up this morning, which is addressed to my name, I opened it and there is a tuning box inside, I thought: WTH? I never order that thing, it turn out is my GF bought it for me on ebay (she used my account and pay by my paypal account though!!! Anyway, I asked her why you buy that thing, she said she know I was gutted to miss the RR day and a guy at her work place keep saying how good his car is after he fitted that thing to his Golf TDi, so she ask him to help her order one for me.
Anyway, fitting was piece of cake, un-do four socket head bolts to remove the engine cover, locate the pressure sensor plug, un-plug it and connect the tuning box to both ends then secure the tuning box by using cable ties. I know a lot of guys here against the tuning box and I know remap is better, but it comes with 14 days money back policy and I thought I got nothing to lose to runit for a week (except it might mess up my engine, but it could happen with the remap as well, the good thing about the tuning box is I can remove it if it going back to the dealer.) Just took the car out for a spin on the "A" road, OMG, was that car quick? it really feel like a different car, I had my old stilo jtd115 remap before, and I have to say the tuning box is as good if not better, I didn't push the car at all, just drive it like normal, but the car was so much smoother and respond was day and night, even at 6th gear!!! There is no extra smoke as I pull away from some cars and I checked my mirror to make sure, it cost my GF (me??) £99 from ebay, I will run it for a week and see is there any improvement on fuel then decide whatever I will keep it, will keep you guys inform. (y)

Thing is they claim an extra 20bhp from 148bhp which would take you too 168bhp and the box is designed to do just that. Take any 150Tjet Bravo up to 168bhp. Brilliant; except Fiat gave me a nice 165bhp from standard. Meaning on my car that expensive little box would add a whopping 3bhp, as it's designed to take every Bravo 168bhp no matter what it starts with because the tuning box makers incorrectly assume every engine will have 148bhp and be exactly the same and will be able to cope with the exact same tuning. Which we all know is total shyte.

Every engine is different, using a custom remap I went from 165bhp up to 179bhp, plus it was cheaper, plus it was tailored for my engine, plus it can be as easily reversed as a tuning box (quick drive up to Peter is no problem for me).

Is it really worth bothering when you have no physical proof of before and after runs, don't know what the box is doing to your engine and stuff.

Just save some money and get it done correctly.

Hi GibBravo, yeah, I think they only do box for diesel, you have a Tjet then?
Well, just give you guys an update after around 1300miles with the tuning box fitted to my 150mjet. Does it works? yes, it works, the car is so much better to drive, big improvement on every gear, espceially on 1st, 4th and 6th, everyone with a mjet will know what i talking about the 1st and 6th gear, mpg increased from around 42mpg to 47mpg, same route same speed, i even check on eco drive, the travel time were within 2mins over my 67miles drive to work. I had tuning box on my rover 220sdi a few years back, those boxes work, but it decreased the mpg as well as created a lot of smoke when push, but there are no extra smoke on my Bravo, box is only set at 70% of its limit, I can turn it up if I want to, but it is enough for now.
does it worths the 99pounds it costed? i will say yes, i know some of you will say the remap are so much better, well, I'm sure they are, i had a stilo jtd remapped to 160bhp, but it is less than half the cost and more than half as good IMO. Also I can take it off less than 5mins when the car go back to dealer for service. For those follow my pots will know the reason why I couldn't made the RR day at reddot, dealer changing the steering rack on my bravo, it will cost me over 1000pounds if i don't have the warrenty!!!

Car is going to long-life to have the exhaust design tomorrow, then I will put it on a roller to see what the improvements are (if there any?!)

Dave, what happen at reddot on the 16th? an other RR day? well, I will only go up there if oldschool can fit me a GSR, but it all depends on how my wallet do in the next month or so, I tried to contact him in the past few days, I pm him, sent email to him, no reply, thats why I decided to make an appointment with longlife (this afternoon) to get the exhaust done.

Longlife is less than a mile from my house, well, it only go in for "designing" so i just have a look of their design, style, we'll see. They offer me another 10-15% off, so it will only cost £300 all inclusive, it aren't too bad for cat back full stainless steel system with life time warrenty.
I might give torque a quick call tomorrow and see what they can offer.
