On the owners manual it says the up and down buttons on the right side of the steering wheel changes radio channels that are already saved in the radio memory but when I press these buttons it just does a channel search. It just doesn't make sense why would anyone keep an eye on the road and search channels through steering wheel, since you have to press the buttons on the radio to save. Does anyone have the same problem or does anyone know how I can fix this and use buttons on steering wheel for channels only saved in radio memory?

So is the translation wrong in the owners manual? On mine it says the buttons on steering are to go through the saved channels in radio memory. Or is maybe the translation is right but they forgot to add the function to the software, I don't know if service can do an update and fix this problem. It's just silly, why would I save 24 fm channels in memory and still search for new channels while my attention is on the road and both hands on steering

Here's how I see it...The only way to start a specific saved station is by knowing the number and pressing it on the radio unit. As there are no numbers on the steering wheel, it is actually pretty hard to find a specific station with up and down, unless you can recognize it by a couple of tones from a song. So even if the steering buttons worked as they were supposed to (browsing saved stations), it all comes to "finding a station I like by hearing a small part of the station". The same result is achieved by browsing all stations. The only difference is that they are 24 in one of the cases, and about 35 in the other case (at least where I live).

So pretty much the same to me...

But if you have the display to show the radio station you can see the name of the station.

OK, I hate this function too.
I just bought my new Bravo 1.4TJet, 120bhp. I really like the car, although it's still too early to judge it (110Km!).
4things I hate:
1. The mirrors are not automatically opened/closed when I start/stop the engine.
2. The Radio is not turned off with the engine (I know, I know, I have read the manual but I would prefer a much smarter approach, such us a third option in the menu that says somehting like Previous status on engine start, off on engine off.)
3. Rain and lighting sensors are not compatible (don't buy it. They are not bad, but it's not worthing...)
4. The 2 "search" buttons in the sterring wheel.
By the way:
Car Manual in Greek and English say, SPEFICALLY, that it rotates though the already stored stations in band (FM1, FM2, etc).
Quick Start guide says that it search for stations.
If Bravo is a can bus car, I suspect that the local dealer will be able to change that...
Anyway, I will contact Fiat CC and seee.
