I am shocked at how pricey the first service is of the 1.4 engine...

I really cannot afford to be shelling out over £200 notes for it at the moment..

Anyone with a Bravo know of any bargainous 18k service prices that live in the Midlands or near Oxford?

I have so far been told so far :

Grays of Warwick bottom line is £240 (originally £260)
Thames Valley Slough £260
Research Garage is £225

And on top of that I lost my car key currently using the tradional Fiat Spare Key with a Meta Alarm Keyfob so that will be around the £150 mark for a replacement key..

Anyone know of anywhere to get this cheaper?? And know if the new key will be in the style of the Fiat 500 Key as is what you get on buying a brand new bravo now...?

Thank You

I don't know, but I have two identical keys.

Shop around. My 18k service is due and i got a quotes from main dealers and 1 from an independant. The dearest was £275. Cheapest was £182. Managed to get 1 of the main dealers to price match the £182.

Must admit i still think its a rip off for what is basically an oil / filter and plug change and a 2 min diagnostic check.

* Regardless of the mileage, the timing belt must be replaced every 4 years for heavy-duty usage (cold climates, town use, long periods of idling) or at least every 5 years.
** If the vehicle is used mainly around town or the annual mileage is less 10,000 miles, the engine oil and engine oil filter must be changed every 12 months.
+ On the 1.4 T-Jet version the following are vital in order to ensure correct operation and prevent serious damage to the engine:
- only use spark plugs specifically certified for T-Jet engines which must be the same type and same make;
- stick exactly to the replacement interval recommended in the Planned Maintenance Programme.
Note 1: The engine oil and oil filter should be changed when the warning light comes on, together with the message in the display control panel or every 2 years

Did a dealer tell you that? Is that a national UK price from Fiat or a regional one? My dealer tells me the list price is £333 which I'm fuming about. I gave up my BMW for a Fiat in order to *save* on running costs but at that price is no cheaper than a BMW main dealer on a car with twice the engine capacity!

Any new remote keys for your car will be the same as the original. The newer cars with the 500-style keys have a different Body Computer and will not "talk" to the older unit.

As Hellcat said you dont have to take it to a fiat dealer, so long as fiat approved parts (ie filters, plugs etc) are used and they just follow the service sheet you can take it anywhere.

Scan it and give them a copy to tick off and sign and stamp

if you really want to keep with fiat ring up 3 or 4 dealers near you and play them off against each other, its cut throat nowadays and they are all after our cash.
