I was wondering if it is possible to adjust the dampers on the hatch door so that when the remote open is used, the hatch opens far enough to get a hand inside to push it the rest of the way?
When I open mine,I have to squeeze my fingers into the gap to prize it up. Because at this time of year it is always dirty, I then have to find something to wipe my hands on. Now the wife is moaning because it usually ends up being her legs and she does'nt notice straight away, she is just chuffed that I paid her some attention. It is only later she sees the dirty hand print on her thigh!
So, is it possible to adjust the dampers?

Or should I just wash the car more often?

if you look on the hatch underside when its open and up top left you will see a 3 inch stalk - this is the spring opener - I'm sure you can extend this by winding it round so the hatch will pop open further

I think it's the opposite mark...

A lack of external handle can be a bit annoying, although in this weather the handle gets as filthy as the rest of the boot.
