General cruise control by Bravo Sport

Hi me again ;)

Now is it official, my Bravo dosen't have this connection. If I want cruise control some guy can do it, but he has to remove board computer and put in some cables. I will not do this, because of varenty:cool:.
So tnx for your help(y).

Best Regards from foggy Ljubljana,
Matej

I did (quickly:eek:). I don't have connector by the steering wheel and in engine the brown connector.

So because my car is new I will not risk motor/computer damage.
So my car will not have cruise control:cry:

Do you really need it? You have the Sport version, which is not exactly about having such driving conveniences. And besides, cruise control goes best with an automatic, which is not your case. So I wouldn't feel too bad if I were you.

No, i don't needed. You're right, i have Sport version and that's what I wanted.(y)

So the lower steering column shroud is held in place by three socket head screws, two covered by a little clip on cover. Do these screws hold anything else in place, or just the cover?

How do you work that one out ???
Makes no difference what model has cruise or not, and saying that auto`s are best suited to cruise is beyond me its a feature that makes motorway driving more convenient, so am i right in what you`re thinking then that sport models are not suited to motorways ??

On motorway I push my Bravo to limit cca 230km/h ;). When I hed cruise control then I wouldn't drive so fast:eek:

Cruise control is really good. My bravo is my first car which is equipped with it and I really like it. I could live without cruise control, but better with it.

I also have a Bravo Sport 1.4T-jet i want to install the cruise control but the dealer i bought my car told that it can't be done because it can't be programmed to ecu's of my car:bang:
Does anyone know something more??

Hi,

You can read the e-learn CD to learn more about CC fitting ...
I will do the modification on my car as soon as the temperature will be highier.
Everything is included in ECU ...

Providing you have the connector inside the steering wheel column then you just need to buy the control stalk, and a replacement plastic panel with the hole in for the stalk to stick through.

Best to check for the connector before you buy any parts.

Hi mates,

Cruise control installation is possible to bravo. Dealers sad here also, that it won't work, but it is working in all bravo. I've already done a few.
There are two option:
1. The bravo is prewired. The white connector is hidden under the steering wheel top cover.
2. The bravo isn"t prewired. In this case U have to route 4 wires to ECU and 1 wire to fuse box.

The connector, which is mentioned in the stilo topic, exists only 1.4 16V 90HP.

The dealers sell only the whole stalk assembly. It is expensive. From carbreakers it is must cheaper to buy the CC stalk separetaly. It is fitted on the std stalk by two screws.

I've done pictures and "manual", but unfortunately, I haven't had time yet to translate.

Read this:
http://www.davole.com/files/CC_on_Bravo_198_T-Jet_Sport(110kw)_DaVoLe.com.pdf

If anybody request, I have pictures.

Well, I've just got myself a cruise control stalk of an alfa 147. Next job, fit it:eek:

I've checked on my copy of eLearn which gives options for the 1.4 90hp, the 1.4 T-Jet, and the 1.9 M-jet in both 8 and 16 valve variants. Looking at the wiring diagrams, there are 3 variants for the pin connections to the ECU. The diagrams suggest that CC wiring on the T-Jet and M-Jet is direct from stalk to ECU, but on the 1.4 90hp there is an intermediate connector. So is it only the 1.4 90hp's that are prewired.

Anyway, according to eLearn, the connections from the stalk are:

  1. Function: On/Off Restore Reduce Set/Increase
  2. 1.4 90hp 58 41 8 9
  3. T-Jet 85 61 86 84
  4. M-Jet 77 38 78 56

It would be nice if anyone can confirm that these are right. ( and if anyone knows how to create a table )

1. At first I found the cruise terminal:

2. Check that the cruise works (short 2 and 4 contacts on the connector ).... Yaahuuu, says the board =)

3. Buy lever cruise from Alfa Romeo 147 .... We wait, we are happy! =)

4. Immediately dismantle around the steering wheel! : D

5. connecting....

6. Unscrew the screw (under the arm rotation) ... I replaced it with a longer, because the old screw with a new lever length is not enough ..

7. Put the lever. If you back off the lever, then very carefully - it is easy to break!

8.Close the guard, after cutting a hole for the new lever ... Cut-out does not show, as happened not glamorous and I'm ashamed =)

9. Turn ... works !....
