Over the past week I've noticed the Bravo being a bit hesitant when starting from cold.

When starting it up it starts ok but as it kicks into life it gives a slight hesitancy as if it isn't going to start before springing into life as normal? It only lasts less than half a second but isn't as smooth a starter as previously.

It may just be starting to look for a service which I am due to get organised and booked this weekend (done 15500 miles) but thought I'd see if anyone thinks there may be something more?

1.4 16v by the way

mines been ok while cold wet and windy. the stilo was a strong starter.

sometimes they can give a slight pause, dont know why it just does

starting problems for me would be -6 outside, sat in a saxo, listening to the starter motor flying over and battery getting flat and kicking into life just before its about to give its last few turn overs

when starting cold, don't force it to start, abort a failed start and try again instead of keeping the starter turning until it catches.

I don't need to force mine to start.

It starts fine just with what appears to be a hesitancy.

I'll turn the key and after a half second or so it kicks in to life. But as it kicks into life it then seems as if it's going to stall again but then starts up as normal and idles fine. All this happens inside a second. It's not a lengthy saga when starting. But there is a difference to what it started like in the past year I've had it.

Like I say it is running up to service time so maybe it just needs a service to get it back to normal and working 100% smooth again.

some G.puntos are like this, theres a starter relay in the circuit for protection. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it gets worse however get it into local garage if its causing you concern(y)

Hi BRAV-OH there really is no need to concern your self about this it is normal my 1.4 does the same thing. it starts but does sound like its gonna cut out. fiat benfield have looked at my starter and said theres nothing wrong with it all it will be is with the weather getting colder there is slight moister on the starting motor which couses this. if your car is like mine once the car is warm it starts no problem. again dont worry about it your car is fine. but if you still dont feel to happy about it take it to your dealer they should look at it free if your still in your 3 or 5 year warrentee.
