Hi, my sport is starting to make a tapping or ticking noise under acceleration between 1000 - 2500 rpm, a lot worse when cold. Anybody had this problem before, i think it might be something grave with the engine .

Sounds like it may be the tappets.

I had the same problem with mine and it was as a result of the oil getting slightly low. Although my oil was still within the min' and max' marks on the dip stick it was just above the min' mark and no more.

I topped up the oil and the tapping went away and hasn't come back yet.

Hi there, i had same problem with my car sometime ago.....

went to garage....they changed to oil on as on what fiat had said and we where to see what happens,sadly tappets where still making that same sound :bang: they had car for a few days and put in new tappets and a week later i was on the phone i had to ask the service manager if there was ever a camshaft runout test done his answer im not sure sir so anyway they had the car for a few days again and this time we got car back but this time i didnt care tomuch about the engine as there was a new one on its way to bonnie scotland old engine had only done 3000 ish miles but i have to say one thing new engine is purrring.very happy man know.

i can only say to u to keep an eye on it and hope all is ok

ive just bought my bravo 120 m-jet ive done 600 miles and ive got the same problem , its starting to sound like a diesel . Ill check the oil in the morning . Other wise im very impressed hope it gets sorted

mine is tappety when cold.

this doesnt bother me because my Stilo 1.2 was the same, and if i understand correctly, the Tjet 1.4 is the same basic motor (i know the thread is about mjets before anyone flames me!). I did 57k on the stilo and it didnt get worse and the engine was mint on it
