I own a 1.4t Bravo about 6 months. About a month ago I detected an horrible smell coming from the vents of the clima(air conditioner) . As soon as I lower the temperature to the lowest amount(16oC) it stops but if I try to use it more.... humanly , at 24degrees Celcious , it starts smelling again:bang:. I have changed the cabin filter twice but nothing!!! Fiat says that they DO NOT KNOW!!!! What do I have to do? Can I point them something that may help? It is middle summer and the system is not working properly . Please help.

It would be wonderful if it worked but the filter must be ok as it is new , brand new. Do you say that the dirt , bacteria , etc are also on the vents , tubes ( or even in the heads of Fiat's mechanics...?) . I have to try it but FIAT insists that MAYBE... it is freon leak from the cooling closed-circuit (!) or even a cooling fluid leak from the engine cooling system(!!!) So they assume that they have to dismount the whole front cooling system and check for any leak or the whole front panel of the cabin to check the air condition cooling plant. I am a girl but I understand that these are not small works to do. I do not want my car to be torn into parts just for checks. Please HEEEEEEEELP!!!

you a anti-bacterial spray, the stuff I use you open can in car & leave it in passenger footwell (shut doors etc & leave aircon on recirculate) for 10minutes,works great(y)

If i'm right, you also need to turn the AC on and fan on full power, shut all the windows and doors.
Mate of mine done that and he keep the engine running, the problem was........he forgot his car got auto-lock after 2mins, so his car was locked with his engine running, Oh yea, he got a spare key in the house, but the main door was locked as well and the key is in his car!!! hahaha, he has to wait his GF to come home, luckily for him, she was only just over an hour away.

I have to assume that it is not only problem at the filter but also at the tubes and every inner part of the air conditioner... . It smells like a fish has died in it. Do you think I must insist FIAT not to start unscrewing everything ? They said that the also did antibacteria cleaning but I think that they say b...****!!!
If I try to use the antibacteria cleaner it is an opportunity to leave inside more things that may have bacteria .Something like a dishwasher-car.
