Hey everybody,

I just got a new bravo. Thank you it is an amazing car.

My question is the following: For how many km am I supposed to be driving conservatively until I can push my foot on the gas? The dealer was not specific and neither is the manual.

Anybody have a accurate answer?

Thanks again,

D :slayer:

keep the revs below 4000 for the 1st 1000 miles and below 5000 revs untill you have done 2000 miles
An extra oil change at 5000 miles won't hurt either.

reduce the revs by 1000 for a diesel ie. 3000 and 4000.

My dealer told me to wait for the engine to get hot and then give it all it can take, if that's what you want. Never mind the milage.
I did it with my Stilo JTD and it didn't hurt. The engine ran f.ex. from km. 100.000 to 120.000 without the need for ekstra oil.
My Bravo gets the same treatment.

Same thing i've been told by my dealer. The manual is unclear on this point. My Corsa(2007) manual stated 1000km(approx 600mi) as the point where the engine could be used over 3000-4000RPM

Do you ever wonder if this is relevant ? Cos if the dealer has used your motor to give someone a quick test drive when a demo car was not available then that driver would not have cared about keeping the revs down(n)

Does anyone know if they do that???

My opinion nobody needs to use more than 3000 rpm in normal use, but most important its step little bit more when you sure engine its realy hot. but think the first mileages are when engine its adapting, eating more oil than older engines, always using best oil qualty, also think always in FAP filter, he needs hot to work properly and no emissions of poorly engine oils
