Hi
First of all, can anybody help by telling me if the 1.2 16v Brava IS or ISN'T fuel injected??
If so do you think it would benefit from some redex or other injector cleaner. When i Accelerate off it seems to surge as if it wants to go but not enough fuel getting through or something like that if you know what i mean.

It is injected. No harm in trying a bit of injector cleaner once in a while. The 1.6's are notorious for getting dodgy injectors but if it's really bad you get a warning light come on the dash.

Thanks m8, not noticed any warning lights on dash though(y)

when was it last serviced, an oil and filter change may be in order at least?

Had service done just prior to buying have paperwork to say so anyway and oil seems clean when checked it.

do you you have details of what was changed in the service?

May be worth using some redex or similar in the mean time, and also check your air filter isnt old and black, if this doesnt cure it then you may want to look at changing the fuel filter and maybe plugs.

Yes m8
Just checked oil, oil filter, plugs, air filter. ALL DONE one month prior to buying.

sounds like a lack of ignition.
if they fitted bosch plugs that could be your problem.
HT leads should be changed too.

Just spoken to brother in law he said its just slow to pickup and most small cars do it but even when flooring it from ideling you can here it then as the revs try to respond quicker. This slow pickup seems to cause a kangarooing type thing whilst the revs are trying to build up.

I do get the odd kangaroo change when it's cold, fine once it warms up though. In the meantime, just try and be smooth with the clutch changes and when it's warm, rev the proverbial boobies off it :) As Jug says, if there's no definitive history, best to cover every base for peace of mind.

Sorted Now(y)
Picks up fine now hot or cold , even when cornering in low gears picks up smoothly turned out to be one or more faulty plug leads
