Technical remote key programming

well the solder on the switch in my spare key looked good but i prised it off, it came off so easily! for a temp measure i put minute bits of silver foil on each contact of the pcb reseated the switch with a tiny bit of super-glue and what do ya know......... it worked! hooooorayyyyy lol. Best get the solder iron out and make it a better job.
Cheers for all the help guys.
One very happy HLX driver! :D:D:D

you need a 4 digit code for remote programming.

does the remote's led light flash? the most common problem is a flat battery or a broken switch. you can replace the battery and solder the switch back on.
I just read through this thread and decided to check the switch in my remote, and it had broken the solder, so i've soldered it back on and my alarm is working, Thanx a lot m8, saved me some money.
Dazz.

i m having a fiat linea dynamic and i need to program my keys buy i m not having the code and the service sentres need the code for programming
Guys pls help me

Hi All, Pls I need urgent help with my new fiat marea weekend, I just bougth it, but all of a sudden the security code seem lock, it stopped on the main road and can't start it again, I noticed that one of the keys (Blue keys) can't open d door any longer. I have tried many times the past 3weeks, but it in d same condition, I had to toll it to back to my house. Pls what do I do, no fiat dear in Nigeria, no mechanic seems to have an idea, pls HELP ME I"M STOCK.

pls is some here? your kindly reply is high sought pls help me, I've wasted almost $500

Hi,
there is an "areial " around the ingnition barrel / lock,
this reads the chip in your key,
maybe this is damaged,

how many keys do you have?,

it's unlikely more than 1 key has failed together,

try moving the steering column up + down to check for a bad wiring connection !

ask in the Marea section and list you Mareas model, engine, fuel, year , etc,

Charlie

Welcome to the forum adenle,

The CODE immobiliser system and the remote central locking system are two seperate systems. Try your spare key, it sounds like a problem with the immobiliser system that could be the chip in your key or something in the car at fault.

Here are two posts that might help

Hello frostbite

Have you tried using one of the other blue keys that came with your car? That would be my first check, it would prove the condition of your key's immobiliser chip.

I think i would check in this order;
1.Spare blue key or try copy of your blue key's chip.
2.Aerial wire check/change
3.Immobiliser itself and its wiring. (maybe check earth points in the cabin under the dash)

This is the imobiliser aerial/reciver wire

The loop end goes over the key barrel. and the connector goes into the immobiliser box. You could check it for damage, check it's physical position is good, and could try cleaning the electrical contacts. I noticed from reading the forum people have had to replace these aerial wires in the past as a solution.

In England a copy of a Bravo imobiliser Key costs about £25 which is not too much money and it takes minuits.

The Bravo's immobiliser system is made up of 3 parts;
1.The chip that is inside your key
2.The black aerial/reciever wire.
3.The immobiliser electronic box, that is matched to and communicates with your cars ECU.

This is a picture of the immobiliser chips inside the keys; Ignore the PCB (printed circuit board) that is just the remote central locking and a utterly seperate system. The key's chip at the top is from a Mk2 1998-2001 Bravo it is a black flat and almost rectangular a more modern style. At the bottom is the Mk1 1995-1998 immobiliser chip and it is brown shaped like a capsule or pill.

I can say my immobiliser turns off much much quicker since i had my original pill style chip copied to the more modern black rectangular style chip.

Sorry for the long post hope it makes sense and good luck (y)

Hello Paul
The Key chips, ECU and Immobiliser are electronicaly matched toghether for each Car. So you need all three matched parts for the swap to work.

The immobiliser is a small black box, as seen here with the key reading ariel wire attached. If you find this black wire next to your ignition barrel just follow it back to the immobiliser box.

Thx to everyone, I'm so grateful, I've tried the spare KEY immediately, but it fails to work, unfortunately, one road side mechanic that I called lost one of the chip inside the spare key, ALTHOUGH, there is another spare KEY that is just ordinary KEY, it came without battery, without chip, I try to start the car with it, its the same thing, its not starting it just there for weeks NOW. One last thing I realise is that there is a key out of the 3 keys that normally statrt it and it also opens the door before BUT now when I insert it into the car/ the Door, its like I'm putting the wrong key whereas its one of the keys. Another man told me to go and bring $1,000 to fix it for me, pls I'm really realy stock pls help me! :bang:

You should find someone who can copy the electronic immobiliser chip inside the key into a new chip. Just so you have at least one spare and perhaps it may prove the original is intermitent.

so you now have the remote codes, and working remotes
(and cant be bothered to search for the programming technique :nono:)

all you have to do is:

-Press the button that is between your courtesy light and the ultrasonic sensors on the roof of your car (near sunroof switch)
-Release the button after a second or two
-After a couple of seconds the LED will flash once
-Enter the first digit of your 4 digit code by pressing the button the relevant number of times
-After a couple of seconds the LED will flash once
-Repeat this for the next 3 digits of the code.

If the code was correct the LED will flash for approximately 10 seconds.
(If the code was incorrect the LED will remain on for 10seconds, so start from the beginning when the LED goes out)

-With the LED flashing press and hold the button on the car and then press and hold the button on the key. Keep them both pressed until the LED stops flashing and remains on.
-Release the button on the remote, then the one on the car.

now what heppens next depends on the age of the car. some cars have a red LED others have a green LED.

for a red LED, if the programming was successful the LED will flash 6 times, but if it was unsuccessful the LED will flash 18 times

for a green LED, if the programming was successful the LED will flash 8 times (i think, maybe less), but if it was unsuccessful the LED will stay on for a few seconds (8 i think?)
I was really hoping this would help me but I cannot find the button on the roof in step one, I don't have a sunroof and so no buttons for it! I bought my 2012 1.4L Bravo 2 weeks ago, the key works in the manual lock and the internal door lock button works, Timpsons confirmed that the key fob is seding out a signal so I just need to get it reprogrammed with the car. Unfortunately the car came with no manual or code card and the manuals online just say to speak to FIAT. I have paid £15 for them to send me the 2 codes for the car but I now cannot find how to use them to resync my key fob! Do you have any help or advice for me or any pictures of where to find the illusive button?
