The bearing has gone on my power steering pump. The pump is still working it just sounds like the car is about to take off.

I've had a look on Eper, and the Workshop program, and it tells you that the pump can be opened so you can replace individual parts.

Has any one opened one up before, and am I in store for any nasty surprises.

why bother when you can rip a pump off a scrapyard car for £10-20 and fit that, saving time, money and effort.

be careful, if the bearing collapses and the aux belt slips off or snaps it could snag the timing belt
