Evening all,

Right just a few little bits that need sorting on the Bravo and I was hoping someone can shed some light on them for me.

Firstly the stereo isnt working properly, some of the buttons dont appear to be working properly (CD Track Up/Down, Disc Down *Up seems to be working* a few other buttons) I was wondering if this could be something along the lines of a lose connection in the back.

Which brings me to my second question, how do you remove the stereo in the Bravo?

And on a different note, the bonnet grille is lose at either side, it's tight in the centre (where is actually bolts to the bonnet) but it seems that the two adjusters either side of this (bolt left/right) arent pulling it tight..... How do I get these to pull the grille tight?

Can anyone help?

Cheers all :)

I had a hell of a game trying to get the standard Fiat radio out of my car. I went to Fiat for the keys to remove it and they wouldn't help, i eventually went to Halfords and a very nice man with a rather large set of keys helped. Still took him ages though to remove the stereo:p

2 sets of feeler guages. 1 either side and lower quarter. You will feel the clips. push in these clips and gently wiggle one side out then other until dis-engaged it should then come out.

The stereos as standard are tempremental. Mine is :(

i used a pair of butter knives to remove the stereo. one slotted in each side, a bit below half way. it was fiddly, and i cut my fingers on the tape slot because i pulled so hard.

i had the same problem with my grill. it happens because you cant tighten the bolts any further. normally it would be tight by that point, but sometimes the bolt's head (which is square and slots into a plastic retainer) damages the plastic around it, meaning it doesnt matter how much you tighten it, it wont help. the damage is caused when you try to loosen off or tighten a rusty bolt, the square head rotates damaging the plastic around it. to fit it, take the grill off, romve the bolts, clean them up with a wire brush bit on a dremel, then glue them back in place after working the nut on the threads of the bolt a few times so it turns easily. now you can tighten them up carefully without snapping the glue. it will be fine until the next poor person tries to loosen them, then they'll snap again.

Cheers for your help guys and girls (y)

I didnt get a chance to look at the stereo or the grille this weekend because I was snowed under with other things to do.

It goes in for its MOT next weekend so as long as Im not too busy on the floor crying with the result then I shall take a look at what i can do.

All seems fine with it now so fingers crossed it will go through without too many problems.

Today however hasnt been completely smooth sailing, I popped home from work at lunchtime to pick up something that I forgot this morning and on my way here the exhaust downpipe snapped along the ridge just before it joins the cat.

I managed to limp it to Kwik Fit and get them to quickly weld it up for me.

It will probably need replacing fairly soon but it should hold until it's through the MOT and then I can sort out a performance exhaust system.
