Sorry for the stupid question but I just got my fiat bravo a few days ago and stupidly didn't know anything about a red key at that time!
The seller of my car had just one blue key and nothing else, so that is the only key I have at the time...
As I have been reading the posts about the red key and got totally confused, please explain me in simple words!
Is it possible to have new keys made from just the blue one?
If it isn't what can be done in order to have a spare one?
Is it absolutely impossible tohave a new red key sent from fiat?
And if you see a way out, how much would it then cost me?
Sorry for asking but the answer from the fiat store nearby was that it is impossible to have new keys cut and to look very carefully after my only key!
It can't be right...or is it?

in the UK we can get keys cloned from blue keys

the blue key can be copied by most locksmiths. it will be an exact copy with the same code so no programming is needed. the copy will work straight away.

fiat can not supply a new blue key, no one can, because a new blue key requires the red key to programme it into the car. if you get a new blue key it will not start the engine.

the red key can not be replaced.

there are other options, you can have the red key code retrieved from the code box, and this can be used to make a red key. this is a fairly specialised job, hover we have a forum member who can do it, reddy4bed.

also you can replace your code box with one that still has its red key. and then use that red key's chip to make your own red key. then you can programme new (or old) blue keys into the car. i think you would also need to replace the ecu if you replace the code box, as i understand they are paired, so a matching ecu, codebox and red key from another car would be needed.

i would copy your blue key, actually make 2 copies, then you sohuld be fine. the only problem will be if your codebox loses the blue key code, that is very rare, and if it happens we can help you solve the problem.
