Hi, the other day I opened my door ok, but after I closed it and had to open it again it would not open, I had to climb inside and open it from within.

The central locking works fine and all the other doors function a ok. its just my door that will not open, it unlocks and still locks fine.

I take it there is a rod that has come off and i need to get in to fix it, but how do I do that and could it be somthing else?

besides it may help other people to read how to repair this problem. I don't slam my door so it might be cool to see why this happend.

Also I was looking at the Haynes and it said there was a sheet in the door, what type of sealent has it got? and is it easy to replace the sealant?

Normally a razor blade or craft type knife is used to cut the sealent around the waterproof sheet,just push it back on afterwards.

From memory removingthe door panel is just 4mm (possibly 5mm) allen screws & some standard star type screws at bottom.

there are 2 rods on the handle, both secured with small white plastic clips. i assume one of those clips has cracked or snapped allowing the rod to come off. you'll need to have a look, and if the white plastic clip is missing on either rod, replace it with a scrapyard part. careful not to damage the clip oni removal, they break easily. its quite a fiddly job.
