After work today, I went to help one of my workmates whose Bravo (W reg) wouldn't start, due to a flat battery. He hadn't had any luck push starting, so I offered a tow start. Searching for the front tow hook in the dark, the best we could find was a threaded hole which looks like it accepts a threaded towing eye. Looking at the spare wheel cover, there was a hole the right size and shape for such an item, but it was missing. Of course he hasn't got a manual for the car either.

Fortunately we started it with a push start on the next attempt.

Is this how Bravo towing hooks work ? You retrieve the eye from the boot and screw it into the front of the car by the front grille ?

(Anyone got a spare ?)

as with most screw in towing eyes they dont want to screw in to the dirty rusty threads once the car is a couple of years old. its a stupid design, but it looks better than having a towing eye fitted permanently.

When I had myn repaired after the smash they had to replace the front cross member. When I got it back I was looking at the job that had been done and noticed there was no where for the tow eye to go. So it had to go back and I lost the car for another day so they could remove the bumper and sort it out. tbh i dont know if it had to have another cross member or if they just welded a new piece on.

Was not that bothered becuase if it was not sunny when I looked over the car I would not know now. Also they done an A1 job at the repair. Cant tell different pain shades or anything.

I would recomend G.B.M. Body Repairs in Bilston to any one. He is a Bentley approved body shop and whats good enough for Bentley is good enough for my fiat.(y)
