Can you but 14s on a brava? What kind of effect will they have on acceleration and top speed? Thanks

standard whels and tyres wont make any difference to acceleraiton or speed, plus steel wheels weigh more so that wont help compared to alloys. a set of 14" alloys with low profile (40) tyres would be the best option for acceleration (if you plan to use it as a drag car). however it will then be so low with standard springs that going lower would be crazy, meaning the car wont handle very well (so it would only be a drag car). the actual difference it makes to acceleration is very noticable compared to 17s with 40 profile, but hardly noticable comapred to 15s with 50 profile tyres. i guess 15's with 195/45/15 tyres would be the best overall choice if you want a small overall diameter. if you fit 195/45/15s dont lower it more than 45mm and dont fit mudflaps. i've got 195/50/15s and lowered 45mm and to be honest its more hassle than its worth, my front mudflaps want to rip off over the slightest bump or kurb, my exhaust hits the floor regularly (every time i go onto my driveway) and going for MOT's requires a lot of patience when getting it on the ramp. it would be even worse with 45 profile tyres. you need to consider practicality as well as looks and performance (unless you're 17, in which case lower it 80mm :D )
