Hi,

I have a Brava 1.4SX 1996.

I'm getting a clonking/knocking sound from the front left when turning right.
I guess it's either the driveshaft, suspension or lower ball joint ??
The CV boots look fine and the driveshaft only has a lil side to side movement.

Can anyone advise what this is most likely to be, or are there any checks I can do myself to determine the source of the knocking ??

Any help gratefully rec'd.

try taking off the wheel and then puttin your hands on the disc and move it left and right up and down if the is any play in there. then it could be the lower arm. is there any uneven wear on the tyres??

Proud owner of a bravo HGT!! SO now for sale a very Cheap PUNTO for sale 74,000 miles midnight blue 1.6 8v sporting K&N induction kit, lowered 35mm, full system exhaust, tinted windows, cadamuro light brows,de badged front and de locked passenger side,

this is what happened to me mate.
1st, the cv boot had came loose and it was the early signs of the cv joint going. it needed replaced and was about 100 quid all in.[V]

2nd was the bottom ball joints, i noticed the left side needed doing so took it to my local garage. mechanic showed me that both the left and right bottom ball joints were shagged.
on a bravo they are part of the lower arm suspension!
this needed doing aswell so another 130 quid all in.[V]

good luck with yours mate but if it is ball joints i wouldn't recommend driving till its fixed. could turn nasty.
