1996 1.6 Brava, with one faulty wiper (thick lady owner)

there I was driving along in the rain with both wipers working, 15 minutes later, only 1 of them was working. lucky for me it was the passenger side that failed.

checked fuse, (obviously ok) cos I still got 1 wiper working. lifted the faulty wiper off the screen, and the damn thing twizzed round as far as it would go.
can someone tell me, do I now have to replace the whole wiper arm, or is this a motor problem? help

fed up with this brava, everything is and has gone wrong in the past 6 month.

it could be one of 2 things,
the first one to check is the nut that holds the arm on. there's a round blakc plastic cover over the bolt head, remove it and check the nut is tight.
the other possibility is the arm has become disconnected from the motor, this will probably be due to a snapped linkage however you'll need to visually inspect to see what has happened. no matter what the motor is ok so it wont cost much to repair the linkage. replace any broken part with a scrapyard bit costing a couple of quid.

I had a relative look at it last nite. the arm has broken. scrap yards are few and far between in the republic of Ireland, but will see what I can do
