Technical Accelerator pedal

Does anyone have a stiff-ish accelerator pedal? I cant pull away smoothly because its rather stiff, I had roughly the same problem in my last car (Clio) but I remedied it by spraying WD-40 on the cable that links to the fuel injection.

Tried the same but no luck any help would be greatful..
