Hi there,

I have a problem when I try to start my Brava (2001, 1.6 - 16v) first time in the morning or when I stay more than a few hours without starting or running the engine.

Actually, the engine does start but after supplementary spins not from the first attempt like is starting if the engine is hot.

The battery and spark plugs are NEW, the air filter and oil filter are changed along with the oil. (5000 km from oil change).

So, first time start – need more spins.
After the engine once start, if I stop and try again it is starting “like a dream”.

Any ideas about this cold starting issue….. ????

Yes! the motor starter seems to spin at the same speed when motor is cold as is spining when hot!

No warning lights on the dash ....

Just need 2-3 seconds of spin before start!

Seems the same problem as mine. Try to pump the gas pedal when starting it on. In my case it starts faster that way.
