don't quite understand you!

does the current exhaust point down or straight?

most diesels point down as they do burn oil (thats their fuel) and a straight one will likely make a sooty mess of the back of your car, and get all over the windscreen of teh car behind. hence why they point downwards.
a free flowing exhaust on a tdiesel engined car is a bit pointless, as yes on petrol models they can allow the turbo to spool quicker and at lower rev's, however you must agknowledge that turbo petrol cars are at a lot higher boost than turbo diesel cars and frankly it'll make sod all difference to performance.

Hello and welcome to the forum :) It's best for people to post replies here so that everyone on the forum can benefit from them. There are plenty of exhaust choices available for Bravas - from a full exhaust, catback, backbox or just an exhaust trim. If you want to fit just a trim, you could saw off the end of the exhaust, or look for something more complete to give a better look/ sound :)

They do indeed all point down on Bravo/as.

even petrol models?

I know most petrol punto's do (I think only one of the three gt varieties doesn't).

I think its just to do with not messing the car up, and it also looks neater, rather then having a rusty bit of metal sticking out the back:)

mine pointed down on both my bravo's until i took a grinder to it and chopped it off. then added a nice twin stainless tailpipe. highly recommended (y)
