Hello from Fiat Devotee,

I took out the injector had it cleaned by Lucas, they said they rearly get dirty and this one was fine. Replaced it. A relay under the plastic cover under the bonnet in front of the drivers position was making a noise, so I changed it for a spare one. [dont know what it does, there are 2 there, grey cubes with 6 or more prongs]. Then I took off the alternator belt to inspect the timing belt, which I did not touch or adjust. I put back the alternator belt and covers ect. Now the car won't start. Any ideas please?

you had an injector cleaned? thats strange why would you want to clean it? a quick blast on a test bench would tell you if its ok. they dont really get dirty or blocked except in very extreme cases (pour loads of sand in your petrol tank and it may happen if you're unlucky) but generally the blocked injector idea is just a myth and never really happens.
if the injectors have been disturbed you need to make sure they have been reconnected to the ecu. if they havent then no fuel will be injected meaning it cant start. the connector is to the right of the fuel rail usually depending on model (it helps a lot if you say what model you have in your post)

replacing the relay in the engine bay 'could' be a problem, but i dont know which one you replaced, or what you replaced it with. i assume you took an identicle one from the same model car in a scrapyard to replace with yours. you shouldn't really change a relay if you dont know what it is. relays are supposed to click, thats the noise they make when an internal circuit is switched open or closed. i'd swap back to the original relay to rule that change out as a cause of not starting.

playing with the alternator belt shouldn't have caused any problems, you could take the belt off if you like, it wont stop the car starting if the battery has charge. so thats probably not the cause.

you say the car wont start, do you mean when you turn the key the engine turns over, or does it do nothing?

Well, I am going to clean out the plug wells and associated areas as these look dirty and may be responsible for charge leakeage or short circuit. Leaving the car standing for several weeks may have built up damp and conductive problems. Will report back soooon.

leaving the car standing for several weeks always kills the battery, try charging it first, before you break something (don't clean the sparkplug wells with the plugs removed, thats aksing for trouble. leave the plugs in place and use compressed air to blow out any debris.
