I have a 2000 W reg Brava 1.2 80sx with only 30,000 miles on the clock.I love the car but it has an intermittent problem! If i'm stuck in heavy traffic i.e stop/go for over 5 minutes the engine tries to stall so i have to keep revs up. Highly dangerous and embarrasing at junctions etc. Anyone got any bright ideas? I have had the car hooked up to diagnostics and,of course because the problem comes & goes, nothing wrong showed up. Cheers all.

aint got a clue what it is but mine seems to do the same from time to time mine is a 1999 t reg 1.2 80 sx and mine only has 26,000 miles on so mite be a comon problem with them mines should be crypten tuned soon so i will let u no if it turns owt up if u sort urz send mi a message or let mi no ta

firstly a 'crypton tune' is simply diagnostics equipment that was so well marketed people actually ask for it by name. a fiat examiner will be far more suitable and useful than any crypton equipment.

its very common on the 1.2 for the coolant temperature sensor or the throttle position sensor to cause idle problems.

a new coolant sensor is very cheap, and the throttle positon sensor range can be easily relearnt by the ecu with the help of a fiat examiner (but not using crypton equipment)

Will do. good luck

Please don't forget to tell us what was the problem, this will benefit the other members :)
Thanks.

I've got something similar with my 98 1.4 Bravo with 66000 on the engine. It sounds really rough when idle and twice now it has just cut out for no reason at a junction

Had it hooked up to a diagnostic and came back that i need a new crankshaft sensor. Not saying this is the same as yours but sounds quite similar and might be worth checking out?(y)
