Being a Honda Mechanic and with Honda only just getting in on the Diesel act, my knowledge of the Fiat JT diesel is somewhat vague. Before I start pulling wires and bits and pieces off, can anyone here tell me if they have experienced this problem,,,,

When I turn the ignition on the glow plug light goes out after a couple of seconds. After starting, the light then comes back on flashing on and off for about 15 seconds, am I right in assuming that there is a fault with one or more of the glow/heater plugs?

The car starts fine and drives fine giving me 600 miles on a tank of oily fuel.

600miles!! i wanna oil burner :(

i'd change the glow plugs because it can't hurt and it feels good :)

Thats what my route is gonna take. It can't hurt.

Allthough reading other threads on here, I think I'll go with genuine ones.

Can't hurt? You seen the access for the glow plugs on a JTD? I can assure you snapping your wrists in 5 places as required to reach them would hurt a lot!

I guess there a **** to do then:bang: Bugger, oh well I guess there is something in my Snap On collection that will hinder my progress.

2.3 & 4 are easy.....but number one glow plug is a c*nt!

much like a pug 306 then. why dont they make glow plugs as easy to get to as spark plugs. a golf td isnt easy to do either, even after you take the intercooler off.

and why are there so many different sized glow plug removal tools. i shouldn't need to buy a 4 part kit. petrol cars all use the same plug spanner, so why not glow plugs.

its a daft world

i've always said if i win the lottery i'm going to ring the main snap-on dealer for the uk and simply say "i'll have 2 of everything please". what a great day that would be. then i'd get the biggest factory unit i could find and finally create "jug's", the super workshop with enough space to fit a 747 in. that'll be the day. god i'm so sad
