General quick question?

hey just a quick question as been getting the run around from a garage recently as i wanted a new maf sensor as mine was fubar, they said thay had replaced it but the performance was as bad as ever, to be honest i dont think they had changed it but had charged my warrenty company for one, anyway thats the long story the short of it is they said they got confussed and changed the map sensor which is on the back of the car but to my understanding there isnt a map sensor on a 1.9 jtd brava could anyone clarify this for me pls

dont know about the JTDs but i've done a MAF sensor on a Audi A4 TDi so I definately know they aren't just for petrol engines

Hey just been to FAST great guys they lent me a 2nd hand MAF over the weekend and yes the JTD's do have a MAP sensor :d

wow that was nice of them, i assume you've paid for work there recently or you've agreed to get work done? i cant see a garage lending a non customer a sensor for a weekend. surely you were getting the problem diagnosed there and paying them for the repairs?

FAST tried to charge me nearly double the price it cost else where for a coil pack and some HT leads, even though mine were fine. they couldnt find a faulty injector on my 1.6 bravo even after they wasted an hour on the diagnostics computers at a cost of £30 to me. i personally think they were trying to "upsell" a coil and leads even though they knew it was an injector but i cant be sure, either way it was bad if they tried to rip me off and its bad if they couldnt spot a faulty injector. i paid £30 for an expensive lesson, they suck. my multimeter was more informative, and less than a third of the price. i've heard a few good things since then so maybe i was just unlucky, or maybe the guy didn't like me? either way i wont be going back.

they only work i had done there was my cam belts and tensionors and water pump. didnt charge me anything for the maf for the weekend but since i now have the situation resolved with nationwide i will be going back to fast for my new sensor as they have been nothing but helpfull
