Hi all again,i have had my hgt20v for about 2 weeks now and have noticed that whilst running ,the engine temprature never goes above the second notch,when i stop in traffic it takes about 5 mins just to get to half but never higher.My heater is just about normal and the car runs sweet.Does anyone have a hgt or any idea what temp it should run at?
Also on aniother note ,i reset the ecu by disconnecting the battry overnight.When i reset it i filled her up(cost about 33 quid)Ive been driving it without booting it too much ,and i only got 250 miles of a full tank(scary!),hope that improves!!!

I'll look at my temp next trip. Seem to think it runs cool, takes a while for fan to come on when idleing.
I'm getting about 24mpg at the moment, mixed driving.

thanks polecat,i know when you reset the ecu its supposed to use loads of fuel for the first few hundred miles,but the lad who had it before used to constantly rag it everywhere.So i thought i'd try and reset it to improve fuel & driving at lower speeds.Do you know by any chance,how many miles you usually get out of a full tank,to give me an idea of what to expect?Cheers anthem,

last few tanks were:

50.9 ltr - 267 miles
50.9 ltr - 295 miles
45.3 ltr - 200 miles

all 95 ron

Anthemmaster you need a new thermostat my HGT 147 has just been done as your car second mark from the bottom now its two from the middle and the heater is a lot hotter

yep, you need a new thermostat, as yours seems to be stuck open.
always fit a new thermostat.
you could try halfords, although i find my dealer to be quite good on prices.
