hello,
would like to get your advice about engine oil for my car 1.6 16v bravo.
what is fiat's recomandation?
is 10/40 semi synthetic o.k? agip,LM,esso,?

thx

Yes, FIAT recommends Selenia, but maybe because they have a kind of agreement with each other.... IMHO any good quality oil will do preferably synthetic, Castrol for example..... I use ProfiCar Synthetic 10/40, it's german and they say it's quite good.

I believe Selenia is owned by Fiat s.p.a. . . . may be wrong?

I always use Castrol GTX Magantec on my FIAT's (former 2 Brava's and current 2 Stilo's) as it makes them sound smoother when cold and helps protect the engine too, and it exceeds FIAT's stated requirements (its the 10W/40 you want as it's Semi Synthetic and API SL, think FIAT Selenia oil is API SJ?)

I believe Castrol GTX Magnatec is the best... Here the Fiat dealership uses it instead of Selenia, can you believe it?
When I first got my car I wanted to use Castrol GTX for it but I was told that it's being manufactured in the Gulf nowadays so that's why I started using Profi-Car cos it's made in Germany... Does anyone knows anything about it?

when i got my oil changed about two months ago. we used castrol gtx magnatec synethetic 10/40 on it. i was amazed that the car had so little oil in it when i brought the car. so glad i wanted to get the oil changed straight away.

and what about the agip?
is it a good oil?
i have heard ferrari used it for their cars...

thanks for the replyes :)

agip have a 6 legged fire breathing demon dog on thier logo so they must be good :)

i think i once used agip super and it was a bright red fully synthetic, but its hard to find on the uk market and a bit pricey. to be honest any fully synthetic oil will be fine. just avoid mineral oils, they dont last
