General KEYS Question

I reached timpson at 16:50 and he closes at 5. So argued little bit, he made the keys though I was not convincied. I will go to him tomorrow morning and get him do it our way.
Thanks T.

Ha Ha , Oh yes T14086 you r right. Bloody u know what happened, I explained timpson guy about this. He programmed my two blue keys with the bravo key which I had from scrapy. I went to car to code it into ecu but ecu didnt recognize the code. I mean the code indicator on dashboard stayed on with both the blue keys. So went back again to get red code fix, and now i am in search of blue key for the code. Is it that bravo codes dont work on brava?

:shakehead

Just get him to cut 2 blue keys...NOT programme them or anything just get him to give you the keys then prog them yourself as already mentioned!

If I come home tomorrow & you say I got no red keys but got 3 blue ones there will be trouble!!!!

Giving me a good laugh anyway;)

i have a 97 brava 1.6 elx my blue key snapped in half a few weeks ago,i am having to use the red key,i have disabled the alarm which is a nightmare.where is the cheapest place to get a one button blue key ? we do not have a main dealer in lincoln.any replies would be great thanks

I dont know if timpsons would be able to do it, you can always check it out. Check out on ebay, if you can get blank one then go to good key cutter with red key, just ask him to cut the key according to red key but not programme it with red key. Give him your snapped blue key and ask him to transfer the codes from the snapped key to the new blue key. I think this should work.

thanks do timpsons sell the one button keys or do they just do the blue key without the button ?

I think they can order one.
If they can't
There is another way round, little awkward though; go to scrapyard and get key barrel with similar blue and red keys from a brava/bravo. swap the internal circuit chip and transponder from your snapped key and red key, swap the barrel too. Try it. Good Luck.

might be a problem as blue key went through the wash grrrrrrr at the mrs ! red led dead as a dodo !

Ohhhh!!! Sorry to hear that.
Yesterday I went to a beach here and my keys were full of water, though it started the car, but it doesnt have remote locking.

Try this, you know the blue keys open up between the two sides, open it, let it dry completely (put it in sun for an hour or so). put it back together and try. Once my calculator got all wet inside in rain and I did this and it worked.

with a fiat just look on any of the keys, if there a triangle and 2 semicircles on the metal blank it'll have a red key, if there's a triangle and 2 semicircles and a number 2 as well then it wont have a red key. all bravo/as were system1 anyway so they have a red key.

yes, all bravos are code system 1 and have a red key. i wouldnt buy one without it unless it was very cheap or i was sellnig it straight on, its just not worth the hassle when things go wrong.

if they dont have a red key they must have a number 2 on each key blank. on the metal part you'll see a triangle and a couple of semi circles. if there is also a number 2 next to those shapes it means there should be no red key as that number 2 means fiat code system 2.

however i'm sure all bravos are system 1. system 2 did get released in 99 on the mk2 punto but was never used on the bravo.
